Bespoke joinery for
East Grinstead.
East Grinstead's High Street holds one of the longest continuous runs of medieval timber-framed buildings in England, and the town spreads out into the substantial period and commuter housing of the High Weald. From close-studded oak frames to Edwardian villas and the larger homes towards Forest Row and Ashdown Forest, it is property that rewards joinery made to match. We make it by hand in Uckfield.
The conservation area along the High Street and around Sackville College is dense with listed timber-framed buildings, where any replacement joinery has to answer to the age of the frame. We reproduce and repair windows and doors to the original profile, work in oak and Accoya, and are comfortable alongside the timber-frame and conservation work these buildings need rather than imposing modern details on them.
Away from the old centre, East Grinstead and the villages around it, Forest Row, Ashurst Wood, Dormansland, are full of generous Victorian, Edwardian and inter-war houses. These take bespoke windows and doors, oak staircases, fitted wardrobes and garden rooms, the larger commissions we build start to finish in our own workshop and fit ourselves.
It is a straightforward run north from Uckfield, so measuring up, fitting and any follow-up are all easy to arrange, which counts when the work is made to order for a specific house rather than bought off a shelf.
If you have a project in East Grinstead or Forest Row, from period restoration to a full set of new windows or a fitted interior, tell us about it and we will come and measure up.
